We’re finally on the move!

For week 4 we didn’t have to travel overseas for long hours to show the love and light of Jesus to His children – instead we went just a couple hours east to Black Mountain, North Carolina. Here we partnered with Adventures Relief to serve and love those who had their lives changed by hurricane Helene last September.
On our first day of being there we went to church which was super cool and then we went and walked around the town. Black Mountian is a cute little town with amazing people and while taking a picture we met this older lady. While talking to her we learned that she had some struggles in life but you would never be able to tell because she was such a light. She also told us that she loves to serve her community so we prayed a blessing over her and it was just awesome to hear her story and be a blessing to her when she is able to do the same to others in her community.
Our squad was also split into our teams to conquer different jobs and our team was assigned the task of installing insulation in the crawlspace of a house. This was honestly one of the highlights of the trip because we were in tight spaces and just got to bond really well while also serving the Lord. The people we served were really sweet and even made lunch for us a couple of the days which was such a blessing and then we also got to pray a blessing over them and their house.
This part of the trip was so amazing because it reminding me of being on the annual missions trip that my church does down to the Baja peninsula of Mexico where we get to serve the people there by providing them with new homes and more. It helped me feel more at home and I just thank God for the blessing this week was.
Fun little story time but coming back from domestic on our sabbath we went to the laundry mat. When we got there this man came up and asked if we needed coins and threw a $20 bill and said this is for you. We later talked to his wife and found out that he himself had been a missionary and could just tell that there was a different presence about us and wanted to help us out!! God is so good and hears our deepest desires and just wants to take care of us in every way possible!
The fifth week was a time to rest for the time ahead and reflect on the past week and our time at training camp. We did debriefs with our team and mentors which was awesome and allowed us to just open up and see a little more of each other but also recognize what we had done. It was filled with times of reflection but also a lot of times of joy and excitement for what’s ahead!
The rest of the week was time for rest before we left for Eswatini!!! We left early in the morning on Saturday and will get to Eswatini on Monday and can’t wait to see what God has for us there!
Love you all and thank you for the continued prayers and support!!! Catch ya on the flip side
